Good Morning, Lovelies!
HAPPY MONDAY- and I can actually say sincerely say HAPPY Monday because I'm off from work today! Since I worked 12 days straight a few weeks back- I got a day off so I decided that this Monday would be a fantastic day.
I have plans to sleep in, get my hair done, get a good workout in & hopefully spend sometime writing for the week ahead! I'm looking forward to another day of downtime! I've been stressed- like crazy, stressed- at work so I'm needing sometime just to relax and be 'at peace' for another day.
If you're a frequent reader of Party of One you know that Monday is the day for {5 for Five} with myself and Ms. Jessica! This link up allows you to come and share your top 5 goals for the week ahead. Link up with us and share what you accomplished last week AND what goals you're setting for yourself the week
ahead. (Still need a little clarification? That's okay! Check out Jessica's summary of the link up here!)

So, how did you do on your goals for last week?!
Y'all, I'm not even gonna lie. I'm disappointed with myself for my efforts- AGAIN- this week. Well, I was doing GREAT....up until Thursday. Like, seriously kicking ass & I was really proud of myself. Well, I hit a bump in the road on Thursday (cue mental breakdown) and I just kinda fell off the wagon for the rest of the week.
1) Wake up by 7am everyday.
I actually successfully did this everyday! Part of it was out of pure stress, part of it was out determination t make a {5 for Five} goal happen, but, regardless- I did it!
2) Do something active everyday. (3/5)
Now, normally I don't give myself half credit for things, BUT, I seriously put SO.MUCH.EFFORT into doing this M-W that I felt like I HAD to give myself some points for it. I did cardio on M/W and yoga on Tuesday. Y'all it felt great! It was big improvement.
3) Put effort into getting ready for work at least 3 times.
Did it! Honestly, I exceeded this goal! I think it was more like 4 days out of the week that I had myself looking put together and presentable!
4) Track everything I eat.
Fail. I only did this on Monday and then I just let it go. I really want to get into the habit of doing this- preferably using My Fitness Pal app as recommended to me by sweet girl Ella.
5) Write in a gratitude journal every day.
Again, fail! I honestly think that this was something that I really actually needed to do this week- and I just didn't. It's something I wish I had done & am going to carry forward with.
So- 2 successes, 2 failures and 1 halfway completed goals.
Not the worst but FOR SURE not my best.
I'm really, really determined to do what it takes to get {5 for Five} this week. I know I said it last week, but, this week- this is it! I'm so over having 'sub par' weeks so I'm going to make it happen!
1) Write in gratitude journal daily.
I, lately, have had the mantra "It's just a bad day- not a bad life" which really helps me to get through my "bad days." I think know that if I spent sometime every day reflecting on the GOOD and the POSITIVE in my life that I could have a much, much better week than I did this past week.
2) Do something active 3x this week!
I know that I have a busy week ahead, so, I'm setting myself up for success and going into this week with a plan to be active 3x out of 5 days.
3) Journal what I eat daily.
So, I've still been eating gluten free. That's awesome! But, honestly? It doesn't necessarily mean that I'm eating all that much healthier than if I were eating non-gluten free. Like I've said before, I want to be more aware of exactly what I'm fueling my body with.
4) Get out my Valentine's Day cards!
I want to send cards to my grandparents and some others, so, I want to make sure to get these out next week so that everyone has their cards by Valentine's day. PS- I really don't love Valentine's day and to be quite honest....I'm not looking forward to it. That said, it's a good excuse to love up on those in your life & y'all know I love sending mail!
5) Sleep without my phone next to me.
Y'all, I have a horrible habit of sleeping with my phone right next to me. EVERY night. It's a terrible habit because when I wake up in the middle of the night (most nights!) I'll check twitter, Facebook emails, blogs, etc. It just starts me up again and then it takes a while to wind back down. I need to break myself of this habit! There is NO reason that my phone needs to be on my nightstand. Even when I'm using it as an alarm clock, sleeping with it across the room or in the next room will STILL wake me up when the alarm goes off!
So, there you have it! Those are MY goals for the week ahead!
What about you?! What are you setting out to do?!
