Hello Friends!

Y'all go check out her blog! She is just the sweetest and I'm SO glad I found her through the linkup!

On to the next thing,
I'm so, so, so glad that you're back for another read of my blog & another edition of {5 for Five}!
New to this linkup? My FANTASTIC (not so average) co-host Jessica has a great rundown on what this link up is all about and some pointers to get you started. Starting here is a great place to start & get you in the 'know.'  (PS- Y'all will wanna stick around Jessica's blog and check it out a bit- she's seriously wonderful!)
Now that you know what's going on- I hope you'll grab a button & link up for the fun!

Let's take a look at how I fared with goals last week.....
1) Do something active everyday.
FAIL. FAIL. FAIL. I have no excuses for it. I just didn't do it- plain & simple. This is going back on the list until I get it done!
2) Dedicate some time to the blog.
SUCCESS! I'd like to think a MAJOR success! I got some great posts written, interacted with a lot of blog friends & don't feel quite so overwhelmed anymore! There is always more to be done, but, I was successful this week.
3) Clean/organize my closet & do laundry.
Success! I hung up all my clothes that were piling up on the floor, did two loads of laundry AND hung up all my clean clothes- whew! I feel a major sense of accomplishment for this one! Let me just say, having this accomplished on Wednesday night made getting ready for work on Thursday/Friday a whole lot easier.
4) Cut out the coke!
SUCCESS! I have not had a coke since last Sunday. In fact, I've been caffeine free since last Sunday! I'm feeling less bloated  & healthier already!
5) Wake up at 7am everyday.
MAJOR FAIL. I didn't get to work earlier than 9am (on the dot!) more than once this week. I felt rushed, frazzled and scatterbrained. This is going back on the list for next week- for sure!
Y'all- I'm pretty sure that I'm stuck in a 3 for 5 rut! Seriously! It's another week in a row of 3/5. Now, don't get me wrong it's certainly better than it could be- but- I'm just about DETERMINED to finally have a 5 for 5 week! Let's make it happen!
1) Wake up by 7am everyday.
I'm going to MAKE THIS HAPPEN this week! I can't keep pushing the button getting to work at 9am- it stresses me out! I want to wake up with time to start my day off without being stressed out.
2) Do something active everyday.
I'm not setting any specific parameters for this. I just NEED and WANT to do something EVERYDAY to get myself moving!
3) Put effort into getting ready for work at least 3 times.
I work in a super casual office which I LOVE. I LOVE that I can wear yoga pants sometimes or a baseball hat on another day. Recently, though, I've found that if I take sometime to get ready (read: hair, makeup, decently cute outfit) I feel like I have a better/more successful/get more accomplished type day. It may be all in my head, but, if it helps me be more productive- I'm all for it!
4) Track everything I eat.
I'm trying to eat gluten free foods- only. I did well with this last week, but, this week I want to make myself more "aware" of exactly what I'm putting into my body. I think that keeping track of exactly what I eat is going to give me a better idea of how I have and how I can alter my diet.
5) Write in a gratitude journal every day.
I want to look back at my day and remember all of the GOOD things that I have in my life. It's really easy for me to get bogged down by the negative, but, in reality I have a really great life. I have SO much to be thankful for and I don't take the time to recognize it enough. I wan't to reflect on the good- not the bad- and end each day with positive thoughts.
So, there you have it! Those are the five things that I WILL BE ACCOMPLISHING this week! I'm not going to let anything get in my way & I'm determined to have a {5 for Five} week this week!
By the way, if you decided to link up with us today (THANK YOU, THANK YOU!!) we just ask that you follow good 'blogging manners' & do the following itty bitty things....
1) Please use the button (see sidebar) and/or link back to my blog or Jessica's blog- or both!
2) Pretty, pretty please follow Jessica  & myself! It helps us get to know you better! Plus, we love having new friends!
3) Jump around! Go have fun and meet some new friends! Maybe you'll find motivation in someone else post OR perhaps you'll be able to offer them some encouragement. We have some wonderful ladies linking up with us so I'd encourage you to get to know them!
Thanks again, loves! We are SO glad you are here!

  1. I think that is a great idea of writing in a gratitude journal! And I am so terrible at writing down what I eat every day too and then I find myself snacking around and whatnot...which is totally not what I want to be doing. I've found that meal planning really, REALLY helps with it! ;)

  2. I stay at home, but I have noticed that if I make myself get up, drink my coffee, and get dressed (instead of staying in sweat pants), I have a waaaay more productive day. The same thing was DEFINITELY true of when I worked, too. Good for you wanting to write in a gratitude journal! I should really start one of those, but at least Husband and I name something we're grateful for every night when we pray. That almost counts, right? ;)

  3. I have a food journal from MayBooks. Love it. Simple design and slim/discrete enough to keep in my purse

  4. My main goal this week is to stay on my diet-- I'm also staying away from gluten. Good luck!!...I'm already craving a cupcake.

  5. I just can't possibly tell you how much I love your 5 for Five!! We have several in common - and you will LOVE the gratitude journal. Its such an amazing way to reflect!! You should totally try the MyFitnessPal app, its the best way {I've found} to track calories!!

  6. Oh my gosh if I would just do my laundry and put away my clothes right away, I would save so much time in the mornings too! For me, I'm constantly digging to find one of the tanks that I use to layer under pretty much everything. :) Good luck with your goals this week!

  7. I think you had a pretty productive week! I am the same as you - I feel like I am so much more productive when I'm in a cute outfit and feeling put together as opposed to wearing yoga pants!
