Good Morning, Everyone!
Can you believe that this is the LAST day of 2012?! I know I can't! This year has flown by.
As you know, we are doing {5 for Five} a little bit differently this week, but, before I dive into my goals for 2013- I want to do a quick recap on how I did last week.
I just have to say it. I'm SO PROUD OF MYSELF for getting 4.5/5 goals accomplished this week!
It's been a looooong time since this has happened & it feels good! It isn't 5 for 5 sure BUT I came pretty darn close.
1) Comment on every {5 for Five} post linked up with us this week. SUCCESS!
This was a little easier this week since given the holiday we had fewer people link up, but, I was really glad that I got a chance to get to know you all a little better. It was really cool to see how great everyone did and I'm so encouraged by the continued support for this link up!
2) Get my 'thank you' cards done for my Christmas gifts. SUCCESS!
These were written and mailed out by Thursday morning.
3) Practice extra patience and love with my family. SUCCESS!
Now, this took a little bit of work...but...now that we are are older it seems to get a little easier every time we are all together. (It helps not all living under one roof too, I've got to say). There were a couple instances that I could have easily been irritated or annoyed, but, I let it go.
4) Get my kitchen organized. 1/2 success!
I've still got some stuff to do, but, I'm considering this organized as it's functional now! There is still one box left to unpack. Like I said though, I can actually find things in the kitchen and have some food in the pantry.
5) Create my budget for January 2013! SUCCESS!
I know this will have to be tweaked come February, but, it's a start. January is the first month that I have a full months rent and utilities added onto my bills that are already in place. I know how much I have to work with though and I'm feeling a little better money wise going into the month!
From where I'm standing on December 31st 2012....life looks A LOT different than it did on December 31st 2011. My life is very different than I thought it would be, but, long story short- I think I'm where I need to be. I learned a lot this past year (you can read more about that here) and grown up a lot.
I'm excited for all that 2013 holds- I truly believe that there is so much to look forward too.
Y'all know I love making 'to do' lists AND how important it is to me to get the things on my list accomplished. When the 31st happened to fall on a Monday- Jessica and I talked and decided it was only appropriate to do a SPECIAL NYE EDITION of {5 for Five} so here we have it.... 5 for 2013!
We've decided that we want to give ourselves (and you all!) a chance to set 5 goals/resolutions/whatever you want to call them! I think that anyone who has linked up with us in the past has found that setting fewer goals that are obtainable- we can accomplish more and be successful!!
So, without further rambling, here are my 5 goals for 2013:
1) Start sleeping with my TV off...
Y'all this is going to be a tough challenge for me! It's going to take some "weaning" by using the sleep timer/listening to music/etc but I'm hoping that by the end of 2013 I won't need the TV to sleep.
2) Start dating again!
I'm not sure exactly how I want to go about it...online dating, perhaps? I know y'all have told me to go for it and I think I just might! 2013 is the year.
3) Loose 30lbs...
I know, I know- cliche right?! Well. I'm still putting it on my list and I am DETERMINED to get to my "reach" weight by December 2013- though hopefully sooner!
4) Get my money in order!
I haven't done well with my budgeting in 2012, but, I'm in serious need to get my finances in check. I want to get better about spending, saving and splurging (a little) less!
5) Run a 5K!
So, for YEARS I've been starting....and stopping the couch to 5k program. I'm going to start it- probably sometime around January 14th- I'm sticking with it this year. This means I'll probably be able to run my first 5k in March 2013.
What are your goals for 2013?! Link up & let us know!
HAPPY NEW YEAR!
Oh, love your goals! Now that I've discovered these colour runs and mud runs, I think that too should be one of my goals... it feels a little crazy atm since I'm the biggest couch potatoe ever!
ReplyDeleteYay on getting 4.5/5!! That is awesome!! I also love your goals for the new year! They all seem very achievable! Come visit Las Vegas for your first run! It'll be after tax time so you can use your refund for a plane ticket, stay with me, and the weather will be nice :) Thank you again so much for hosting these awesome link-ups!!
ReplyDeleteLove your 2013 goals!! Dating is just such a weird thing, but once you find that person, you will know you want to spend the rest of your life around him! It's the best feeling to know you have that special someone who thinks about you as much as you think about him! The 5K race is one of my goals too!! Ill be linking up shortly! :)

ReplyDeleteAlso, I can't seem to link-up nor leave comments on Jessica's page. Any thoughts?
I'm new around here but just want to say it sounds like you are on track for a fabulous 2013! I know this sounds nerdy but I love that you have keeping your budget as a goal (it's one of my mine too!) This past summer I attended Dave Ramsey's Financial Peace University - it was basic but it really helped keep me on track and still going strong! It's worth a look. Happy New Year!
ReplyDeleteHi Jenn. I didn't know your email address or phone number so I had to track you down here. I just wanted to say thank you so much for the clothes for the kids. They are so cute and it's really sweet to know that you still think about us. You have always been such a sweet girl and I've always had a special place in my heart for you. I just wanted you to know. I love your blog. It's so cute. I hope you are doing well. Happy New Year! I hope 2013 is amazing for you.
