Why Not Me? Why Not Now?

Hey Y’all!

So, I must say that I just came back from the most AMAZING weekend.

Bloggy Bootcamp was fantastic….everything I expected & then some! I got to meet some girls that I seriously consider my best friends, I got to meet a few women who are considered CELEB status in the blog world & I learned SO MUCH!

Me and the super amazing women I was with!

We learned about blogging, making a business out of my blog & how to be an all around better blogger!

Instead of overloading y’all with TOO MUCH information about everything I learned…I decided I’m going to share my experience in parts! Today is part one!

If you've been to this blog before you probably know this about me…I’m a self-proclaimed quote junkie. I love quotes in any capacity, so, of course a lot of what I took away from this weekend were the one liners that stick in your brain & get your wheels turning. So, what better way to share my top takeaways from BBC than in quote form!

Tiffany Romero is one of the ingenious women behind The SITS Girls and Bloggy Bootcamp! To hear her speak, to meet her, take a picture with her and socialize with her was nothing short of COMPLETELY inspiring.

Tiffany made the superb point above. If we are not out there in the "real world" living it...how can we be writing it?! Knowing that we need to be PRESENT in the real world in order be a better blog makes time management so much easier. Blogging, to me, is like a job. Hearing Tiffany say that words above has encouraged me to make sure I'm finding a "work-life" balance with blogging.

This quote was another part of the presentation by Tiffany and Francesca. We are all different. Just because someone looks, acts, appears to be a certain way...it doesn't mean you have to be that way too! Be original. Do you!

Danielle Smith was not present at BBC, but, she was quoted with saying the phrase above. This is still resonating with me...in every aspect of life. If it's not something I'm passionate about, crazy about, can't wait to do...I'm not going to do it. (Granted, sometimes we have to do things that we DON'T want to do like paying bills, cleaning the toilet and doing laundry...I'm not talking about those things....)

I've taken this to heart. I didn't really FEEL 100% inspired to write on Monday...or Tuesday...so I saved it for Wednesday! If I'm not screaming YES I WANT THIS then I'm going to be careful about what opportunities I accept.

Plain and simple. Be nice! Just because we are all behind computer screens does not give us a right to bully, belittle or be rude to ANYONE. The other women that we deal with? They're people too! They have feelings...just like you! Before you make a comment or go to say something that is not 100% nice...reevaluate. Think about the comment and ask yourself if you'd like to receive it. If you wouldn't want to hear it...chances are someone else doesn't want to hear it either.

I cannot stop thinking about this and asking myself this question. Posed by Robin O'Bryant during her presentation on writing, this really struck a cord with me. What is my goal with blogging? Why am I doing what I'm doing? How am I going to accomplish my end goal?

Another HUGE point made to me this weekend. What is holding me back from accomplishing what it is that I want to accomplish?! Not just in blogging! In my professional life, my personal life, my health & fitness...WHY NOT NOW?! This was one of the last points made during the conference. Now is MY TIME.

Y'all...this weekend was incredible. Flat out incredible. I hope that you've enjoyed these little tidbits of what was taught & what I learned!

I'll be back with more Bloggy Bootcamp Pictures and stories soon!

Getcha Head In the Game

Hey Y'all!

Happy, Happy Monday (evening) to you!

I'm sorry that I'm joining the {5 for Five} party so, so late today! Life has been throwing me some crrrrrazy curveballs lately and I'm just trying to stay afloat!

As I mentioned (this is probably the millionth time!) I was so very fortunate to spend the weekend with a bunch of amazing bloggys (ha!) in Charlotte, North Carolina! My brain has been on SERIOUS overdrive since Saturday. Good news? This means GREAT things for y'all! This blog is about to become better than every before.

I was so excited to meet my sweet, sweet co host of this linkup- Jessica! I don't think we got any pictures of just her and I! (I'm seriously bad at taking pictures but will have A BUNCH for you this week!) It was so great to finally meet her and she's just as sweet in person as she seems online!

Alright, here we go with the {5 for Five}!

Red- Failure, Green-Success and Orange-I partially did it.

1. Spinning Class 3x this week
2. Yoga class 2x this week
3. Drink 2 meal replacement shakes a day
4. Find a positive mantra for each day
5. Schedule my day...and follow it!

So, I totally messed up last week. Yep. Again. Things have just been so super crazy lately. Mostly, though, I just haven't had my "head in the game" lately- I'm determined, though! This week is going to be MY week.

Here are the five things that I'm GOING TO MAKE HAPPEN this week.

1) Schedule all my doctor appoints that I need to go to before June 12th- aka when I turn 26 and fall off my parents insurance plan. Gynecologist, Dentist, rheumatologist, etc. I've got some appointments to get taken care of....hopefully in the next 3 weeks...

2) Drink 2 meal replacements shakes a day- EVERY DAY- this week. No excuses, Jenn! This will be the summer of health for me!

3) Write my "About Me Page" for the blog!

4) Set up my new advertising opportunities on my sponsorship page. Look out for some great new chances to expose yourself (wait, what?!) on my blog!

5) Do SOMETHING physical 3x this week. Walk, jog, swim, yoga...don't care WHAT it is! I just need to MOVE!

Alright, y'all. There you have it! My {5 for Five}! Will y'all hold me accountable? Ask me how it's going?! Keep in touch with me this week!

Here's to a very successful week ahead!

Love y'all!
